Paramongaia weberbaueri
Paramongaia weberbaueri is amongst the most desired of all bulbs. The fragrant flowers are deep yellow, the corona segments have median green stripes. The upright glaucous blue green leaves are attractive in their own right. Requires a minimum of 13 deg.C., it is dormant for a bit over 6 months when I withhold any water – only starting again when growth appears. Demand for this bulb is usually ahead of the stock available.
(2) Form that flowers around January. The flowers can be as large as 24 cm. across. It can only be grown under glass as all its growth is made in winter and it requires sufficient light and humidity. It will not produce the growth and initiate flowering in an atmosphere that is too dry and hot.
